About Us...

We met at the (infamous) Dubbin's sandwich window in Boulder, Colorado. We were both attending CU at the time for graduate school. After a couple of emails and coffee, we found a mutual affection for breakfast foods (among many other things) and have been together since.

In 2013 after finishing his PhD, Seth moved to Nice, France for a post-doctoral position. For the next two years we spent a lot of time on Skype and on airplanes visiting one another while Caroline was finishing graduate school. After defending, Caroline was also able to find a post-doctoral position in Nice. So currently, we are enjoying life on the French Riviera and learning the many intricacies of French life and culture (and of course the wine and cheese).

Our Engagement...

We got engaged while traveling through Nicaragua in November 2014. While staying at a coffee plantation near Jinotega, we decided to take a walk in the surrounding forest. We found a bench surrounded by flowers and Seth took the pictures to the right just before asking. Shortly after the proposal, in true Nicaraguan fashion, an angry-looking hog ran out of the jungle right about five feet away from our bench, which inspired us to head back to the plantation and we celebrated the rest of the day with bird-watching and wine!
